I’m so excited I have art up at the Adams Morgan Community Center! The show includes a series of watercolor paintings, acrylic paintings, and some dreamcatchers made out of frisbees! The series of watercolor paintings fused paintings based on a J.Crew catalog with the wikipedia entry about cultural diversity in Adams Morgan. I liked the idea of combining two disparate ideas. It is interesting to think about who is represented and not represented in J.Crew catalogs.

The acrylic paintings were more random things I thought about when I thought about DC like bike shares, khaki pants, pandas, and pizzas! The pizzas are more of an Adams Morgan thing. I had a great opening with pink balloons and good company! The show is up through August 14th and it’s free!
